I’m making steady-ish progress on this one. So far I’ve almost doubled the first chapter. But don’t worry, I’m not just adding in filler or fluff for the sake of making it longer. I’m only adding it if it enriches the story and adds depth to what’s already there. This is going to be a very character-driven story, so it has to fall inside that perimeter first, but anyway, I’m getting sidetracked again.

I’ve also, again, been playing with generative AI, trying to see what my characters would look like, how the ship in the first 2 books would look, and then kicking around ideas for covers. I’m still trying to figure out what the art style I see in my head is called, but it’s somewhere on the crossroads of Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, and Retrofuturistic.

It’s funny, the ideas I have for the covers have absolutely NOTHING to do with the story. Like, at all, not even in the least. I guess the reasoning behind that is the same reasoning behind me being unable to come up with individual titles for the books, so for now I’m just using the numbering system. The trademark is on the title, so I think using the numbers would allow all of the books in the series to fall under that trademark, since it would be like a brand. That way I wouldn’t have to put in a trademark application for every single book.

I’m lazy like that sometimes. Anyway, I guess I’ve rambled on enough. Just thought I’d post an update.

Until next time, readers!
